Indika Hiran Wijesinghe is an AI and Data Science leader with over 17 years of experience in technology, analytics, digital transformation, and IT strategy across the public and private sectors. He currently serves as Deputy Director of IT at the Sri Lanka Tea Board, where he leads national-scale digital transformation initiatives and data-driven projects aimed at enhancing transparency, operational efficiency, and organizational performance.
Indika is passionate about leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and cloud technologies to address real-world challenges and create meaningful social impact. As the Sri Lanka Chapter Lead of Omdena, he has guided multidisciplinary and global teams in developing innovative AI solutions, including predictive analytics, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based knowledge systems, and machine learning models addressing environmental, health, and other societal challenges.
Through his work, Indika continues to promote the responsible and impactful use of emerging technologies and data to support digital innovation and sustainable development.
